Donald Trump:
Man of My Dreams
By Paula Payne Hardin

November 13, 2016
What could my inner dreamer be saying by sending me a series of five startling—even shocking—dreams over the year preceding the election of Donald Trump? Dreaming is rare for me these days but I always keep pen and paper by my bed for messages in the night.

First let's ground my remarks in A Course of Love:

You must now birth the idea that human beings do indeed change…You must forget the idea that the future cannot be different than the past. (T3:15.7)

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, turn your thoughts not to ideals of social activism, to causes, or to championing any one side over another. Turn not to your thoughts but to your feelings and go where they lead. And everywhere they lead you, remember one thing only. Remember to embrace your power. The power of love is the cause and effect that will change the world by returning you, and all your brothers and sisters, to who they are in truth. This cannot be done from without but must be done from within. It is the transformation that is caused within that will affect the world without. (D:Day 10.33)

This is the point that this work has striven to get across. That man and God are one. Not only is man God. But God is man and woman and child. (D:Day32.14)

First Dream: November 3, 2015

Trump, his wife, and their young son were here for an appearance. I was to introduce him to the people gathered. I am surprised because Donald seemed quite approachable, his wife pleasant. After the presentation he looked a little tired and sweaty, his hair rather natural and even a bit messy. He looked very human.

The first dream came during the time when I was judging Trump out of fear, laughing in shock at what media reported him saying. The dream's message to me was: 1) Stop all judgments concerning Donald Trump; you don't know what you are doing. 2) You have no idea how Christ energy is working and through whom; instead be open. 3) Don't limit God and who is chosen to bring the good news to a hungry earth. All are chosen.

Second Dream: May 22, 2016

I fly to New York to meet Trump. I stay in a nice but modest hotel room. I note how expensive New York is. We meet with 10 or 12 people at an upscale restaurant. We are seated at a curved banquet table overlooking the sparkling city below. Trump is seated in the middle. It is all very pleasant.

This dream shows progress within me as I move toward accepting "my enemy," the one with whom I disagreed strongly and angrily.

Third Dream: June 11, 2016

Trump's inner circle gathers in a high-rise city tower. He seems to have the top floors. Trump is ill, in bed a lot. There's something about his legs, which are always curved. The only women are his wife and I. All are Aryan looking. The young men bronzed, fine boned, blue eyes, clean cut. The older men have huge bellies and look rather dissipated, unfit. One is tired and lies on the couch. Trump's wife and I are building a friendship—even trust. She makes all his meals. We don't sit in on the meetings. I have a bedroom in their apartment for this meeting.

The "Trump in me" is weakening. His legs, his "standpoint," doesn't work well any more. Transformation is afoot. Big contrast exists between the young (untested, idealistic) and old (haven't matured well) male energies. The feminine, the nurturer, is active, but separated from the old male-dominated model. The high tower continues to be a theme, not grounded or close to the earth.

After the third dream I began to record some of my thoughts and feelings, some of them startling. They were coming to me in a unique way. A Course of Love describes different types of thoughts, including T"thoughts that came to you with an authority that you are not used to—thoughts that you know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, are true or right or accurate. . . They may be simple thoughts…. Or they may be profound insights into your Self or the nature of the world." (D:12.14)
These are thoughts that I did not think consciously. They just came.

Here are a few of the thoughts that just came: "There is an upheaval in England and there's the Trump phenomenon in the US. They are leading to chaos, breaking up old stuck systems, spotlighting our collective and individual shadows. I feel an opportunity is upon us. Mostly I feel less fear. My security comes from within. I trust in the promise of this very moment. I feel supported in my hope and desires for our world. The peace of God supports me."

Fourth Dream: August 1, 2016

Although this dream is mostly lost, the dream state produced some "true thoughts."

"Wow," I wrote, "Trump is almost a 'sacrificial lamb' as he waves his egoic biases about, making huge uproars—the wall, the Mexican judge, the Muslims, the Kahn family, his treatment of women, encouraging violence and hate and on and on. Perhaps a far deeper story is emerging. Perhaps before birth, Trump agreed to demonstrate the ludicrousness of fear, narcissism, and ego, of willful spiritual blindness, of the self-destruction that is in all of us and in our world. Perhaps a crown and a robe await him for the role he is playing for God and Love. Perhaps just as Judas was essential for Jesus to complete his gift to us, Trump is essential in a similar way. And God has a sense of humor&mdat some level this might be a comedy."

Another "thought that I did not think" came a month later and I wrote: "Having fun watching Trump. Today he goes to a black church. He just returned from a trip to Mexico. He is looking into the eyes of the people he's ridiculed and dismissed. Wonder what is going on at a soul level? I am watching and loving our insane world with peaceful detachment. Holding the child of God image for us all. We all have God genes in us—all of us!"

Fifth And Final Dream: September 13, 2016

This last dream in the series was a shocker to my conscious sensibilities. As you know, our inner dreamer doesn't live by the same rules we humans do. My human self feels a bit shy sharing it. However, there is a 'nudge' to share, and when that happens, I obey as best I can. I titled this dream "The Shining One."

I am with a group in a great city when I meet Donald Trump. In person he was kind, attentive, golden, handsome, embodied, glowing, glowing, glowing. His skin shone. His hair was golden. He was fully embodied in the beauty of full manhood. Donald Trump, transformed. I knew we would make love and he would be a marvelous lover. He lived in a tower that was a twin from the one where we were staying. He invited me to his tower. I said "Yes."

Yet in spite of all this preparation I was shocked on election night. Fear paralyzed me. My heart raced. My breath came in shallow jerks. I had to turn the TV off and claim, "All there is, is Love" over and over before I felt the fear recede and peace gain ground. Before I could accept Trump as President-Elect of my country.

So much more could be mined from these dream images. But I will close now with this challenge from A Course of Love: "Human kind is now passing through a tremendous stage of growth and change. Are you ready?" (T3:12.11)

The Greatest WE

By Paula Payne Hardin

I wrote a poem in 2000 that came from "thoughts I didn't think." It just appeared on my computer. I don't remember writing it. I had life-threatening cancer at the time and the veil between the worlds was very thin.

...And beyond to the stars

And outer galaxies

The smallest grasshopper

Was not left out

Nor were my own flaws and failures

Redemption rolled over all

Like some cosmic ocean

And everything sang love's song

There was no you nor me

There was only the greatest WE.
